What is a power hour?
A power hour is a focused, time-boxed calling session, often run as a team, in which reps do nothing but make calls for the set period.
Why it matters for sales teams
Calling is easy to put off. Email, meetings and research all feel productive and push the phone to the end of the day. A power hour protects time for calls and removes the start-up cost of switching tasks: lists are ready, the opener is practiced and notifications are off.
Done as a team, it adds energy and some friendly competition. Managers can listen in, share wins as they happen and coach between calls.
Example
Every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 a.m., a team of SDRs joins a short video call, confirms each rep's list and then goes quiet for an hour of calling. The call list was built and cleaned the day before. At the end, everyone shares conversations, meetings booked and one thing they will try next time.
Power hour vs call block
A call block is any time on the calendar reserved for calls, by one rep or many. A power hour is a specific kind of call block: shorter, more intense and usually done together.
